GREAT NEWS….. Manja is HOME! Today Manja joined Bren Shanavas and her son Abraham of Rockford, IL.

Manja was born on the streets of New Delhi, India and came to Chicago to find his forever home. He was one of the lucky few who have been given a second chance – a chance to live a fulfilled life free of fear.

It was love at first sight. Manja literally came bounding out to greet Bren and Abraham. From then on out Abraham and Manja were bonded at the hip. Manja could not have found a more perfect house. I see years of bonding, playing and LOVE in his future.

Thank you Akanksha Joshi for rescuing this sweet boy and working so hard to ensure he had a better future. Thank you to Simmi Harding for being his flight volunteer. And most importantly thank you to Bren and family for opening your home and hearts to Manja.

Manja (short for Manjanu) is a handsome one year old rescue from New Delhi, India who is 1 year old and approximately 40 pounds.  He resembles a yellow lab and is as sweet as can be.

Manja’s rescue story as conveyed by her rescuer Akansha:

One morning,  I found 2 small pups on my doorstep.

Were they dumped by kind soul seeing them suffering and knowing I will help?

Or

Was it act of heartless owner who dumped them to a place where there was chance that I would see them and help?

Or

Did the wonder away from their mother and get lost only to find them at my door in possibly an act of fate and destiny?

Either way, I knew I needed to help them.  Both were very malnourished and covered with ticks,  After a trip to the vet and 10 days of loving care – they both fully recovered.  Today Manja is a healthy and happy young dog. He is loving, affectionate and very smart.   He has been living in foster care for 6 months prior to coming to the US and is potty trained and leash trained.  For being such a young pup Manja has a calm temperament and good house manners.  His favorite pastime is playing with his sister Laila and other K-9 pals.  Manja loves to spend time with people including kids.  He is an easy going guy who is appreciative for any affection. He is a very smart boy and learns quickly. Manja will make a very loyal and loving companion for a lucky family.

Manja arrived with Laila from New Delhi into Chicago on February 23, 2017.  Unfortunately, in their home country they have little to no chance of finding a loving home as street dogs are generally seen as not “pet worthy”.
